RENALDO & THE LOAF - ARABIC YODELLING / GRAIN BY GRAIN (FOR ACCURACY)
Originally released in 1983, this was Renaldo & The Loaf’s second album on Ralph Records – it took them over two years to complete as they freely admitted they were suffering from ‘difficult second album’ syndrome. However, this did result in a number of outtakes and sketches that could later be released to expand an understanding of this album – an album that for many fans remains a firm favourite.
The Arabic Yodelling audio has been sourced from the original stereo master tapes and lovingly remastered. The collection of bonus material, titled Grain By Grain (For Accuracy), is also remastered and re-edited as the second disc of this set. A limited bonus 7” contains 5 tracks from Grain By Grain that, due to time constraints, could not be included on that LP.
The design and formatting of this release reflects that of the two other classic RATL albums, Songs For Swinging Larvae and The Elbow Is Taboo, that were previously released by Editions Mego – therefore completing the set. In terms of design, we based our design on the previously published editions of Edition Mego, but we are Psychofon and so it is similar to the Edition Mego releases but a little different.
